Split rings fail or over extend when the base material ductile limit is reached, leaving the gape of the split ring not closing. This will lead to lost fish or compromise in split ring strength. Precise control is needed when opening the split ring, thus allowing the angler the ability to understand the ductility of the metal of their brand of split ring.
Use these inserts in combination with the Toit Round Jaw Insert to open any sized split rings with the ultimate in confidence. Made from 440C hardened Stainless Steel to give the tool both corrosion resistance and a hard-wearing edge, these Cone Jaws will make for fast and efficient split ring use, whether in the filed or at home.
